About the Role
As a Engineer within the Victorian Planning & Connections team, you will be responsible for conducting power system studies, interpreting the results, and providing technical advice on network adequacy and economics. You will be contributing to network investment decisions for the Victorian Declared Shared Network, including Regulatory Investment Tests for Transmission (RIT-Ts). Your work will support decisions and you will need to communicate recommendations to both technical and non-technical stakeholders. You'll play a crucial role in shaping the future of Victoria's electricity transmission network by working on projects that ensure safe, secure, and reliable energy for all Victorians. This role can be based in Melbourne, Sydney or Brisbane.
What You Will Be Doing
Network Analysis: Perform simulations and analyses to assess and optimize the Victorian transmission network
Result Interpretation: Provide clear, actionable insights and recommendations based on your analyses
Stakeholder Communication: Craft and present reports, briefings, and presentations to a diverse audience, including technical and non-technical stakeholders
Project Coordination: Manage and prioritize multiple projects, adapting to changing needs and communicating effectively with your team
Policy Development: Collaborate with senior staff and stakeholders to develop policies that guide our processes
What You Will Bring to the Role
Degree in Electrical Engineering or related field
Minimum 2 years' experience in a similar role
Experience with electricity network analysis tools (e.g., PSS/E, PowerFactory, PSCAD) and interpreting results
Strong understanding of electricity transmission systems and energy markets
Excellent communication skills and the ability to convey complex information clearly
Experience in preparing high-quality stakeholder reports
Passion for contributing to a sustainable energy future
