Engineer (Operational Technology) Brisbane / Sydney (Norwest) / Melbourne or Perth locations considered Our Operational Technology Engineers are responsible for delivering and supporting exceptionally reliable real-time systems to enable 24/7 monitoring and control operation of the AEMO electrical power and gas systems and markets.
The team combines knowledge and skills in electrical power systems engineering and information technology to support and enhance operational technology systems used for power systems and gas operation, analysis, planning, simulation, and training.
The team, working with the software vendor, performs operational technology upgrades, replacements, and enhancements to meet operational business needs.
The role responsibilities Perform support(includingrostered24/7on-call) and maintenance of SCADA and Power Systems Applications required to ensure system service levels are achieved.
Provide detailed advice and recommendations for designs and architecture of EMS (Energy Management Systems) system developments.
Analyse, design, develop and test software enhancements and in-house applications for the SCADA/EMS, Operator training simulator (DTS)and Historian OSIsoft PI systems.
Provide detailed advice to design and architecture for Grid Systems technology enhancements to ensure they remain current.
Provide detailed advice and recommendations for the identification and management of risks to ensure required Grid Systems development service levels are achieved.
Knowledge and experience Utility industry experience or similar systems, with an understanding of GE Platform AEMS or other SCADA Systems.
Administration and development on AVEVA OSIsoft PI or other operational historian systems.
PSSE, PSCAD or other Power System analysis tools.
High availability applications development, preferably in C/C++ or C#.
Devops using Jenkins, Ansible, Azure DevOps.
Automation using Perl, Python, PowerShell, Window batch scripting or other scripting devops.
Electrical power systems, modelling, and analysis.
Power System applications like Automatic Generation Control (AGC), State Estimation and Contingency Analysis.
Administration and supporting highly available and secure real-time IT systems using Microsoft Windows Server, Microsoft Windows Desktop and VMware Virtualisation technologies.
Education/ Certificates Tertiary qualifications in Electrical Engineering, Science and/or Information Technology AEMO is an equal opportunity employer.
