Based at our Mining Area C operation in the PiIbara with the option of flexible working arrangements, a unique opportunity has arisen for a Mechanical Engineer to be part of a cohesive team providing a high level of technical support and expertise to stakeholders for a diverse range of teams including; Fixed Plant, Mobile Equipment, Balanced Machines, Reliability and CAPEX Projects.
Reporting to the Superintendent GTS, you will be responsible for:
Providing support to stakeholders on the Yandi, Mining Area C and South Flank mine sites Ensuring all blueprint changes are managed through the Management of Change Process, documented and collated in SPO Ensuring conformance with the BHP Charter, the BHP Group Level Documents, Code of Conduct and relevant statutory obligations Support and adhere to 1SAP work management and Engineering Core Processes Ensuring project designs meet BHP design standards and are the right solution for the business Employ specific/relevant discipline engineering expertise and leadership to meet BHP's technical expectations Assess changes to prepare Engineering evaluations for impacted stakeholders in the adoption and successful delivery of the change Apply an understanding of Mechanical Engineering-related terminology, key processes and activities Identify and assesses risks, makes risk informed decisions and use BHP's risk management framework Source information, plan and conduct analyses to support evidence based decision making Identify, engage and manage a range of diverse internal and external stakeholders About You The successful candidate will possess the following:
An overriding commitment to health, safety and environmental responsibility. Prior Engineering knowledge, experience and training to mentor others, including peers, graduates and interns Tertiary qualification in Mechanical Engineering Ideally conversant in BHP software platforms including but not limited to SAP, Fiori, SPO, ioDocs, MOC system, etc Develop and maintain good relationships with internal stakeholders, external customers and suppliers as required Presents data in a format that enables a variety of stakeholders to easily grasp difficult concepts and identify new patterns Asks questions and evaluates information from a wide range of sources to understand alternative viewpoints Leverages complementary capabilities within own team/network to deliver a better outcome Implements solutions that target and solve the underlying cause of problems About Our Process At BHP, we are committed to employing individuals who align with the BHP Charter Values and meet the requirements of the role.
