The RoleAs a Mechanical Engineer for hoisting, you will be reporting directly to the Superintendent of Fixed Plant Maintenance.
You will manage the safe and successful delivery of complex asset improvement projects in a way that ensures quality, financial and output targets are met.
You will also be working closely with the Senior Electrical Engineer and Hoisting Supervisor.
Your key responsibilities include:Safe and successful delivery of capital, sustaining and asset improvement projects including shutdowns.Lead and manage complex mechanical asset projects involving personnel from a variety of disciplines.Performing calculations for safe and efficient component designs and upgrades.Undertake options planning to define the scope for improvements to individual assets.Supervise and manage the design, tendering and delivery phases of projects and programs.Managing external suppliers working on engineering projects.Uphold project management procedures, including project structures, controls and governance, risk management, stakeholder communications and reporting.Responsible for providing mentoring and visible leadership, ensuring policies, standards and procedures are communicated, understood and applied.With your knowledge of hoisting systems and legal requirements, you will be required to hold the legal responsibility of Primary Person to Control Winder Operations (PTCWO).The successful applicants will have:Bachelor's degree in mechanical engineering.5 Years Mining experience with hoisting exposure.Detailed understanding of project management disciplines (e.g., Prince2, PMBoK) and process improvement methodologies (e.g., Six Sigma, Lean tools).Demonstrated experience in self-motivating, self-directed value-driven working style with the ability to partner with business teams to improve their processes and process knowledge.Knowledge of business requirements gathering, analysis and process mapping techniques.Excellent communication, facilitation, influencing and negotiation skills.Excellent analytical, problem solving and critical thinking skills.For further information, please contact:Graham Geraghty, Recruitment Coordinator on or email
