Contribute to the delivery of Battery of the Nation projects in support of Construction group's goals. Play a role in supporting major renewable projects. Work in a supportive team environment.Based in Hobart, with an opportunity to go to site as part of this role.Salary range $113,448 – $131,517 (based on experience) plus super. 'Battery of the Nation' is Hydro Tasmania's bold vision to maximise Tasmania's hydropower capacity, including the redevelopment of the Tarraleah hydropower scheme to a more flexible, future proof generating asset and developing our first pumped hydro scheme at Lake Cethana.
Tasmania has significant potential in the future development of wind and hydropower, coupled with more transmission and interconnection. It's anticipated these developments will drive billions of dollars in investment and create hundreds of jobs in Tasmania, as well as delivering energy security for Tasmania and lowest possible power prices for Tasmanians.

About You: You're a driven and enthusiastic Mechanical Engineer with experience in the energy industry or have transferable skills from another industry. Your skill and experience will include the following:
Making recommendations towards the sign-off of key engineering documents including concept reports and design drawings, specifications, and contractor documentation.Ability to integrate project and maintenance and operability outcomes into the design review process.Experience in engineering project management including cost control, risk assessment and cost benefit analysis.About the role: Reporting to the Program Manager this position will develop and maintain sound, up to date and relevant knowledge and understanding of the project's objectives, the contracting structures, the reference designs, and the Employer's Requirements to which the projects are expected to be delivered. Working with a team of professionals and expert in their fields, you will provide engineering advice to Project and Delivery Managers to support the project's core objectives, and asset owners requirements.
