KORR on behalf of our client have an exciting opportunity for an experienced LAME with proven leadership skills to lead our client's engineering operations in Melbourne.

The Role

As Engineer in Charge, you will ensure that all aircraft maintenance is performed to the appropriate standards, in a manner that has least impact on the operational schedule and, for scheduled activity, within the specified timeframes.

You will develop and maintain an efficient, quality orientated team, dedicated to maintaining the levels of safety and reliability inherent in the aircraft operating from your base.

At all times you will ensure compliance with all NZCAA Rule Part 145 requirements, company policies and procedures and industry leading practices.
As a leader you will be motivating your team to achieve success and managing personnel, including performance appraisals of direct reports, roster production, leave management and timecard processing in accordance with delegated authority.

You will ensure all governance activities are carried out, including the reporting of accidents, incidents and hazards, investigations and actioning of audit findings.

As Engineer in Charge, you will have also financial responsibilities, as per delegated authority, including the approval of expenditure, assisting with monthly budget reporting, identifying reasons for significant over-runs and identifying and proposing opportunities to reduce costs.

This position reports to the Head of Engineering and Maintenance.

Please note this is a full-time position.

Minimum skills & criteria Hold a NZ CAA or CASA Aircraft Maintenance Licence Hold B737 classic type rating (preferred but not essential) At least 5-10 years' proven management experience in a Line Maintenance environment In depth regulatory knowledge Attention to detail and pragmatic in approach Excellent communication skills and the ability to command respect and lead others Desirable criteria Strong problem-solving skills and the ability to identify and address challenges effectively Excellent written and oral communication skills Strong ability to implement changes, policy and other improvements to the benefit of the business Strong influencing skills with the ability to drive performance Ability to work with the leadership team to create a strong culture of responsibility and accountability Ability to establish and maintain positive internal and external stakeholder relationships Successful candidates must have the ability to work in Australia.
