Network Design and Integration is a group within Department of Transport and Planning and its purpose is to optimise the value of the Victorian transport system by driving an integrated, whole-of-life asset management approach to the state's assets across the transport portfolio.
Assets and Engineering enables a safe, resilient and fit-for-purpose Victorian transport system through whole of lifecycle decisions based on systematic and disciplined technical excellence.

About the RoleThe position Engineer – Geotechnical Design undertakes and coordinates geotechnical investigations, designs, and hazard risk management under supervision.
The position uses conceptual and analytical skills to resolve moderately complex geotechnical problems where policies, guidelines, and/or precedents are not readily available.
The position provides geotechnical advice to key stakeholders in accordance with existing policies and procedures to influence outcomes.
There could be occasional intrastate travel and may involve evening or weekend work and overnight travel.
Position OutcomesThe successful applicant will be required to deliver geotechnical design solutions within budget and timelines, contribute expertise to complex projects, foster strong stakeholder relationships, support engineering teams, and actively participate in the geotechnical community.
