The Opportunity Cape Preston Port Company (CPPC) is seeking an experienced Engineer – Electrical & Control to join our Maintenance team on a permanent 8/6 roster, FIFO ex Perth.
Reporting to the Superintendent Electrical & Control Engineering, this role is responsible for, but not limited to, the following: Engineering support focusing on analyzing plant and equipment failures or unavailability, responding to and resolving electrical and plant control breakdowns as the first priority.
Provision of technical support to Maintenance and Operations personnel to ensure that the Port materials handling plant and equipment is operated in a safe and efficient manner.
Execution of Continuous Improvement initiatives and projects resulting in improved plant/equipment performance, reliability and utilization and safety.
Input into and support of strategic direction of the Plant Control Systems and plant automation.
Successful applicant will have: Tertiary qualifications in Electrical Engineering of a related discipline (acceptable for award of MIEAust, TMIEAust or AMIEAust).
Minimum of 5 years post-graduate working experience, ideally within the mining sector or a related industry, specifically materials handling plant, including rail mounted balanced machines (stacker, reclaimer, shiploader) and conveyor systems.
Substantial working experience with PLC (Allen-Bradley and Siemens), Citect SCADA, instrumentation, VSD, MCC and electrical motors.
Demonstrated capability in working with a range of PLC & SCADA systems, communications protocols and networks.
Demonstrated exposure to and use of project management principles including scope, budget, design, commissioning and close-out.
Proficiency with SAP.
Hold or have ability to obtain a Maritime Security Identification Card (MSIC).
A current Drivers Licence is essential.
