This role is perfect for someone with a strong background in Mechanical and/or Electrical Engineering and a passion for leveraging technology to improve asset performance and reliability across projects and maintenance functions.
Role Overview:  You will provide Engineering domain level subject matter expert (SME) support in rollingstock performance requirements.
You will work closely with the Engineering and Asset Management cross-functional teams to design, manage, and implement solutions for both onboard and back-office technology systems, focusing on monitoring and maximising performance.
The role provides domain specific analytics for asset performance and reliability ensuring UGL and its customers can maximise performance and reduce whole of life costs.
Key Responsibilities: ·         Provide Engineering domain support across project and maintenance functions within the business unit.
·         Leverage your engineering specialization (Mechanical or Electrical) to deliver high-quality expertise to support rolling stock maintenance and operations.
·         Conduct performance and reliability analytics to enhance asset performance and reduce whole-of-life costs.
·         Support the development of technical solutions for infrastructure and rollingstock performance monitoring systems.
About You ·         In-depth knowledge of rolling stock design, maintenance, and operations, particularly in vehicle-level behaviour, requirements, and standards ·         Bachelor's Degree in Engineering (Mechanical, Electrical, or Mechatronics) ·         Experience in vehicle commissioning, instrumentation, and compliance testing ·         Proficient in data analytics, probability, statistics, and report writing ·         Experience with vehicle system simulation and statistical modelling ·         Project management experience, particularly in system development and integration ·         Systems Engineering expertise with an understanding of both hardware and software integration ·         Strong domain-level experience in rollingstock ·         Experience in rail, automotive, military, defence, avionics, or other safety-critical environments ·         Experience in designing and managing monitoring and performance systems ·         An understanding of software development, IT certifications or extensive experience in system development and integration is desirable.
