The Kimberley Region is currently recruiting for Engagement Officers at the APS5 and APS 6 level.
The Region's sub-regional teams are West Kimberley, Central Kimberley and East Kimberley.
As an Engagement Officer, you will be part of a sub-regional team and report directly to the Engagement Assistant Director providing support, leadership and advice.
Engagement Officers at the APS 5 level will: ensure the effectiveness of Indigenous Advancement Strategy grants working closing with communities, providers and funding applicants provide input and advice into briefs, grant administration processes, and policy and program requests support the Empowered Communities model of joint decisions making in the Kimberley Region develop and maintain an understanding of local Aboriginal and Torres Strait Island communities, their needs, aspirations and priorities, emerging issues, and the services delivered to communities within the region.
Engagement Officers at the APS 6 Level will, in addition to the duties of an Engagement Officer at the APS 5 level: represent the Agency to engage and build relationships with First Nations Corporations, community Traditional Owners, Elders, Leaders, partners, Government Agencies and Non-Government Organisations liaise extensively with communities and service providers to provide information and respond to questions about the government's policies and programs assist with the development and implementation of strategies and projects that will have a positive impact on Closing the Gap targets under the Commonwealth Closing the Gap.
