The Scaling up Success in Remote Schools Program focuses on targeted teaching and increased student and community engagement in schools with a high proportion of Indigenous students in K-2 Literacy and builds on the Kimberley Schools Project. The Project's purpose is to strengthen the core of education with a focus on school leadership and targeted teaching practices.
Midwest Education Regional Office is seeking to appoint a dedicated and enthusiastic Engagement Officer – Regional Learning Initiatives.
If successful, you will work within the Scaling up Success team to provide strategic advice to schools on developing and sustaining community engagement procedures to enhance positive community–school relationships. It will be your responsibility to support and lead the effective implementation of procedures and processes in schools to ensure non-attending and alienated students participate and are engaged in educational programs.
The Engagement Officer will provide strategic advice and support to principals, school staff and the project team in the implementation of school attendance strategies and policy and legislative compliance. Within this role the successful applicant will implement and manage system level initiatives relating to student and community engagement at regional level.

Demonstrated extensive knowledge and understanding of community and school engagement and the ability to deliver relevant training. Demonstrated well developed organisational skills with the ability to prioritise tasks to meet deadlines and work autonomously and collaboratively within a team environment. Demonstrated leadership, analytical and conceptual skills illustrating an ability to identify and clarify issues leading to the development and/or implementation of regional strategies and programs. Highly developed written, oral and interpersonal communication skills that demonstrate the ability to liaise and consult with individual, groups and organisations in a variety of contexts.
