About the role The purpose of the Engagement Officer role is to support the Engagement Manager, identify internationally aligned standards development opportunities for the Net Benefit of the Australian community and to act as a gateway for stakeholders in working with SA.
This role will support the sectors of Agriculture, Environment, and Manufacturing.
This role is also responsible for ensuring that Standards Australia remains connected to existing stakeholders and builds relationships with new stakeholders to support the standards development program of work.
In this role, you will bring insights about sectors, organisations, opportunities and other relevant information into the organisation and work with teams across the business to ensure the success of Standards Australia's work in developing and adopting standards in the national interest.
What you'll do Assist stakeholders in understanding and participating in the standards development process Assist stakeholders in developing project proposals for national and international standards development work Establish, build, maintain, and manage new relationships with stakeholders within defined areas of activity Through engagement and the development of knowledge of an industry, sector, or area of activity - deliver insights and report to the business on areas of opportunity in existing or new areas of standards development activity for national development work and for international adoptions Proactively work with stakeholders to maintain the existing catalogue of standards and other publications within a defined area of responsibility through the delivery of quality project proposals Proactively work with stakeholders to progress project proposals and assist stakeholders to satisfy quality criteria and provide recommendations to the Net Benefit on the merits of the proposals Assist the business to meet agreed project proposal targets Support standards development activities in close collaboration with Program Managers and Project Managers Assist with the development and execution of strategic projects as agreed and in defined areas of activity About you Undergraduate or postgraduate degree in business, arts, politics, law, communications, engineering or other relevant fields At least one (1) years' experience in a similar stakeholder engagement, policy or government role (preferred) Experience in a customer service role Demonstrated ability to manage competing priorities Experience in the Electricity or Gas sectors is desirable, but not essential Culture & Benefits Standards Australia is proud to have been awarded the prestigious Employer of Choice Award for two consecutive years, 2023 and 2024.
