The NIAA has a current vacancy for a Senior Engagement Officer, based in Lismore, NSW. The Engagement Senior Officer role is to oversee and guide the day-to-day operational activities of a small team, to deliver high-quality services and policy implementation, and to ensure that performance measures are met within desired timeframes. They may be required to undertake management or have oversight of small projects for the team and assist with larger projects for the branch.
The Senior Engagement Officer will contribute to a strong team culture and encourage innovation, where staff are valued and supported, while ensuring commitment to producing quality outcomes.
This role includes the following duties and is expected to be conducted with a broad degree of self-direction:
Contribute to a culture that aligns with NIAA values and fosters high performing teams who are dedicated to achieving quality program outcomes. Provide advice and assistance in a range of formats and channels to provide information, tools, and guidance to internal and external stakeholders. Coordinate team workflow to ensure even distribution and management of priorities, and undertake planning and implementation of small-scale projects for the team of Branch. Effectively monitor and report on team and project performance and workload, and implement remedial action as required to ensure performance indicators are met and quality is maintained. Ability to work and collaborate within a small team, and proven capability to work autonomously and independently. Develop and maintain an understanding of local Aboriginal and Torres Strait Island communities, their needs, aspirations and priorities, emerging issues, and the service delivered to communities within this region. Represent the Agency to engage and build relationships with First Nations corporations, Community Traditional Owners, Elders, Leaders, and Partners. Experience in previous project management and desire to further strengthen knowledge and subject matter. Well-developed written and verbal communication skills, and a strong analytical lens. Provide technical support and operational guidance and direction to the team. Possess and/or have the ability to understand issues facing the First Nations people of the Northern Rivers/Coast. The occupant must be able to obtain and maintain a Baseline Vetting (Protected) level security clearance, or hold a current security clearance of an appropriate level.
