The Engagement Manager is responsible for the development, delivery and monitoring of high-quality engagement strategies working across the Energy Group Offshore Wind Programs team.
This key role supports the First Peoples' Energy branch performing advisory functions fostering Traditional Owner Corporations and First Peoples' community engagement and partnership outcomes.
The successful candidate will build effective relationships across the Department, the energy sector, other government agencies, TOCs and First Peoples communities with demonstrable skills, experience and knowledge of Aboriginal culture.
An understanding of Victoria's energy sector, and/or experience in grants management is also desirable.
This position will support the Energy Group's commitments to recognise and invest in First Peoples' projects and aspirations for renewable energy, as well as Pupangarli Marnmarnepu; DEECA's Aboriginal Self-Determination Reform Strategy.
This position is classified as an "identified position" aimed at increasing employment opportunities for Australian Aboriginal and/or Torres Strait Islander People.
The position requires an in-depth knowledge of Aboriginal culture and an ability to communicate with Aboriginal communities.

Specialist/Technical Expertise/QualificationsDemonstrated knowledge and experience of Aboriginal culture and contemporary issues to deliver culturally informed government programs and services is required.Demonstrated knowledge and experience working as a senior engagement specialist is highly desirable.An appropriate tertiary qualification/s in science, law, economics, public policy, natural resource or environmental management, business management or similar with an engagement focus is desirable.Demonstrated ability to develop and implement policy and processes aligned to government statutory requirements and operations that deliver agreed outcomes is desirable.This is a fixed term position available for a period of 2 Years.
