Since 2008, we have worked to enable consumers, Queensland Health and the health system to partner effectively together and improve the health of all Queenslanders.ABOUT THE ROLEThe Engagement Advisor supports the implementation of a wide range of Health Consumers Queensland (HCQ) consumer engagement, advocacy and policy projects and initiatives vital to HCQ's growth and impact. This role is critical in supporting and building key relationships across the health service system and driving meaningful change using collaborative and innovative approaches. Applications close 27 November 2024 at 5pm.Engagement• Support the development and implementation of comprehensive consumer consultation and engagement programs aligned with HCQ objectives, participating in their design, execution and evaluation and ensuring coherence across various initiatives.• Support and deliver fee for service HCQ consultancy projects.• Identify opportunities for stakeholder partnership development and community initiatives to support HCQ's goals.• Collaborate within HCQ to utilize data-driven insights to measure the impact of engagement initiatives, tracking key metrics and adjusting strategies for optimal results.• Provide strategic engagement advice on behalf of HCQ.• Develop and implement training and education programs for consumers and health staff.• Prepare reports and presentations highlighting engagement outcomes and providing recommendations for continuous improvement.• Contribute to HCQ's corporate direction, organisational development and improvement through collective planning and review processes.Stakeholder Relationship Management• Participate in the support and development of HCQ's consumer network.• Cultivate and maintain relationships with key stakeholders including Queensland Health and Hospital and Health Services as well as other organisations across the health service system.• Support the creation of opportunities for collaboration and innovative initiatives within the health sector as applicable to HCQ's objectives.• Represent HCQ on external committees and working groups as required.Advocacy and Policy• Support the development and implementation of HCQ advocacy and policy initiatives.• Contribute to the internal research and analysis of relevant health policies, regulations and legislation that impacts health consumers and HCQ's objectives.• Contribute to the development of policy recommendations and position papers articulating HCQ's position as required.• Collaborate internally to ensure policy response alignment and coherence with HCQ's position and strategic objectives.Planning, Implementation and Evaluation• Contribute to the development of operational planning, implementation and evaluation of the work of the Engagement, Advocacy and Policy team within HCQ.• Contribute to whole of HCQ evaluation and continuous quality improvement activities.This role may also be required to perform other duties within HCQ as directed.ABOUT YOUDegree in Health Promotion, Social Science or other relevant qualification.Demonstrated experience in consumer consultation and/or community engagement or related roles within the health and/or community and social services sector.Sound knowledge of the Queensland health system.Exceptional communication and interpersonal skills with the ability to engage people from diverse backgrounds.Demonstrated project management skills with the ability to work collegiately with others to achieve common objectives.ADDITIONAL BENEFITSHealth Consumers Queensland is a registered charity and offers salary packaging to its employees.
