Energyaustralia | Regulatory Engagement Leader

Details of the offer

About Us EnergyAustralia is one of the largest energy providers in Australia, committed to powering a sustainable future through innovation and excellence. Our purpose is to lead and accelerate the clean energy transformation for all, while maintaining the highest standards of compliance and governance.
Within our Group Risk business unit, the Regulatory Compliance team plays a critical role in navigating complex regulatory landscapes, building robust frameworks, and fostering trusted relationships with regulators. Together, we are shaping a cleaner, more sustainable energy future for Australia.
About the Role We are seeking a Regulatory Engagement Leader to join our team. This high-impact role will drive regulatory engagement and compliance excellence across retail and wholesale operations. You will play a key role in developing frameworks, managing breach reporting, and building trusted relationships with regulators and internal stakeholders to ensure EnergyAustralia remains compliant, proactive, and forward-thinking in an evolving regulatory landscape.
Key responsibilities include: Act as the primary point of contact for regulatory bodies, including the AER, ACCC, AEMO, and state-based regulators. Lead and coordinate responses to regulatory notices, audits, and engagements, ensuring timely and accurate submissions. Represent EnergyAustralia in regulatory forums and build collaborative relationships with external stakeholders. Develop, maintain, and continuously improve regulatory engagement frameworks, policies, and tools. Ensure frameworks are aligned with organisational objectives and regulatory requirements. Oversee the preparation, consolidation, and submission of compliance and breach reports across jurisdictions. Conduct independent reviews of reported breaches, validate severity classifications, and lead root cause analyses. Collaborate with stakeholders to implement effective remediation plans and monitor progress. Monitor the external regulatory environment for changes and assess their organisational impact. Advocate for necessary updates to processes, policies, and tools to maintain alignment with regulatory developments. Design and deliver training programmes to enhance compliance literacy and build organisational capability. Drive continuous improvement initiatives by embedding feedback loops, analysing trends, and implementing enhancements to compliance processes. How You Can Support the Clean Energy Transition If you're passionate about compliance and want to make a difference in Australia's clean energy journey, here's what we're looking for:
Strong knowledge of Australian regulatory frameworks and compliance requirements, including retail and wholesale operations. Proficiency in breach management, root cause analysis, and remediation planning. Exceptional ability to engage and influence stakeholders at all levels, fostering trust and alignment. Experience leading cross-functional teams in regulatory engagements and compliance initiatives. Advanced analytical skills to identify trends, assess risks, and recommend solutions. A proactive mindset to anticipate challenges and drive continuous improvement. Proven experience in regulatory compliance, risk management, or governance within energy, utilities, or a highly regulated sector. A degree in Business, Law, Risk Management, or a related field (postgraduate qualifications and professional certifications are highly regarded). #J-18808-Ljbffr
