In this pivotal role, you'll provide valuable insights, expert advice, and a comprehensive view of our Electricity portfolio to support performance and drive informed decision-making. You'll be instrumental in setting annual budgets, managing monthly forecasts, and ensuring the business stays aligned with its targets. Collaborating closely with the Trading and Transition team covering electricity trading, physical markets, and pricing you'll also support finance functions to maintain strong financial control in line with EnergyAustralia's requirements. About the Role As one of our Finance Leads for Electricity, some of your key responsibilities will include the following:
Provide consistent financial advice and direction across the electricity portfolio. Support budgeting, forecasting and tracking across the electricity portfolio. Assist in identifying insights into drivers of monthly results against Business Plan and forecasts for the portfolio (variance analysis). Ensure financial performance is clearly communicated and can be articulated by Trading and Transition. Assist with ensuring integrity, compliance and financial control in Trading and Transition Projects including investments (Business Cases, Projects, etc.). Review and challenge initiatives developed by Commercial teams to ensure that business decisions are made with a clear understanding of likely financial outcomes. Support requests from Portfolio Governance team to validate assumptions set in business cases. How can you support the Clean Energy Transition To be successful, you will have the following:
Tertiary qualifications in accounting, finance, economics or another relevant quantitative degree (minimum). Postgraduate qualifications in accounting, finance, economics and/or another relevant quantitative degree. Experience in energy or a similar related field desirable.
