About the role This is a fixed-term full-time opportunity (until 30 June 2025) based at our Brisbane office.
The Energy Strategy Analyst plays a key role in supporting the Manager Energy Transformation to align Stanwell's portfolio renewal with stakeholder expectations.
Being in the Energy Markets division, this role adopts a holistic whole-of-business approach to guide investment decisions and support business transformation.
This position focuses on identifying gaps in both existing and emerging processes at Stanwell, developing process improvements, and delivering structured, transparent analysis and recommendations.
Unlike roles with regular, repeated deliverables, the Energy Strategy Analyst operates across a wide range of subject areas, taking a strategic view of the business.
Key activities include: Support the operation and execution of portfolio modelling tasks, ensuring a broad range of models are conducted to generate meaningful outputs.
Analyse these outputs, creating a suite of information, to inform decisions that best align with Stanwell's strategic goals.
Provide analytical support to major projects and initiatives across business, contributing to strategic decisions that optimise the value of Stanwell's portfolio, including legacy thermal assets and new energy initiatives.
Identify, evaluate and conceptualise potential solutions using various approaches to meet business challenges and opportunities.
Initiate process improvements to ensure a holistic approach to portfolio assessments, fostering continuous optimisation.
About you Experience in the electricity, banking or finance industries with exposure to strategy and planning functions.
Knowledge of the national electricity / gas markets and associated financial markets and current publicly available energy market outlook (i.e.
AEMO Integrated System Plan and Queensland Energy and Jobs Plan).
Excellent verbal and written communication skills to present structured analysis and recommendations to senior stakeholders and diverse teams.
Ability to identify gaps and inefficiencies in current processes and develop innovative solutions for improvement.
