Mission and Priority Objectives: The Energy Market Manager is responsible for managing the energy and power provided by GPGA operation assets through energy market and Power Purchase Agreements. This role involves analyzing trading regulations and implementing necessary changes to comply with them. The Energy Market Manager will represent GPGA operation assets before organizations, associations, regulators, and any institution related to the energy market. Additionally, this position is responsible for large-scale generation certificates management (creation, transfer, commercialization, etc.).
In this role, your responsibilities would include but are not limited to the following: Defining energy trading strategy for GPG Australia generation assets. Managing any energy, power, and service sales provided by GPG Australia generation assets through Power Purchase Agreements (any type) and/or spot market. Negotiating Power Purchase Agreements for GPG Australia generation assets. Continuously analyzing the trading regulatory framework affecting GPG Australia generation assets and implementing necessary compliance changes. Continuously analyzing market opportunities for GPG Australia generation assets. Representing GPG Australia Operations before organizations, associations, regulators, and any energy market-related institution. Managing the reconciliation process for any energy, power, or service provided by GPG Australia assets. Managing the Large Scale Certificates process for GPG Australia assets: certification, creation, transfer, commercialization, etc. Elaborating yearly budgets, strategic plans, and MPA (best yearly forecast), reporting periodically, and following up on actuals vs expected to detect deviations and implement corrective actions. Communicating to the Control Room Manager trading strategy specifics for GPG Generation Assets to ensure proper bidding implementation and continuous improvement. Coordinating trading activity with the Operation Manager to maximize economic results while ensuring safe and reliable asset operation. Collaborating with GPG Development in studying trading opportunities for new Australian generation assets. Collaborating to fulfill financial agreement obligations. Assisting when directed by the company in acquiring and maintaining ISO certifications, working within the framework set up by GPG. Carrying out all reasonable requests set by the company aligning with your roles and responsibilities. SKILLS & EXPERIENCE Minimum of 5 years working in a similar role with demonstrated experience in trading energy management. Knowledge and experience in renewable energy markets. Specific Knowledge High level of understanding of Australian energy markets and regulations. High level of understanding of Power Purchase Agreements. Demonstrated leadership, stakeholder management, and coordination abilities. Knowledge of the energy industry. Ability to build and foster good relationships.
