Join the Department of Housing and Public Works, your role within Procurement will support the department to provide expert advice and support services to agencies, suppliers, and the community to achieve procurement outcomes. The work you will do helps someone every day, and that means the world to us.
The General Goods and Services (GGS) team establishes and manages whole-of-government supply arrangements, such as preferred-supplier panels. These supply arrangements enable easy connection between suppliers and government buyers. GGS enables agencies to achieve greater value-for-money from their procurement spend. The team provides advice, guidance, and tools so that agencies can better deliver on government priorities when purchasing general goods and services.
GGS is focused on helping Queensland recover from the impacts of COVID-19 and to delivering a legacy from the 2032 Olympic Games. GGS supply arrangements create opportunities for Queensland businesses and manufacturers, of all types and from all regions, to become valued suppliers to the Queensland Government. There are 24 staff in GGS who manage a variety of GGS sub-categories and functions. This vacancy currently sits within the Marketing sub-category. However, your skills and abilities will enable you to deliver the category specialist function across any of the GGS areas, if required.
By engaging with a wide range of stakeholders and working collaboratively, you will contribute to broad functions including planning, market analysis, cost analysis, data analysis, risk management, demand management, supplier performance management, sub-category performance, sourcing activities, forecasting, and the development of forward procurement pipelines.
What you will be doing: Facilitating and participating in cross-agency working groups, accountable for the delivery of category plans. Planning and delivering key industry and customer forums and workshops. Developing contract management plans and managing supplier contractual performance, including novations, contract variations, and performance against KPIs. Ensuring buyer guides and other category-related content are up to date, accurate, and user-friendly. Managing daily communications and resolving customer and supplier issues. Using Excel, Power BI, and other systems to collate and analyse data, informing sound decision-making. Contributing to key sourcing initiatives in the sub-category, including the development of tendering documents, pre-tendering industry engagement, evaluation, and implementation, and play a vital role in supporting the department by providing expert advice and support services to agencies, suppliers, and the community to achieve procurement outcomes.
