The work you will do helps someone every day, and that means the world to us.As a Director, you will be responsible for leading and providing strategic direction for the Governance, Engagement and Capability team, ensuring successful delivery of the team's programs of work.
These include procurement capability, training and other professional development initiatives, procurement-related governance and engagement (including roadshows and award programs) and social procurement.
At present, the role is also responsible for ensuring the implementation of several initiatives that are part of the Queensland Government's procurement approach.The role is required to work across the whole-of-Queensland Government and other government jurisdictions, along with external stakeholders such as industry bodies and individual businesses.
It is also responsible for the provision of strategic advice regarding a wide variety of procurement matters.What you will be doing:Lead, manage and provide strategic direction to the Governance, Engagement and Capability team, ensuring the successful delivery of the team's programs of work related to procurement capability, governance and engagement, and social procurement.Provide strategic advice across a broad range of procurement-related matters and topics, including identifying contemporary and innovative solutions to improve outcomes, to a wide variety of internal and external stakeholders, including executive leadership and Ministerial levels.Promote and facilitate communication and connectivity across the Queensland Government's procurement function broadly and within the Procurement division.Build and maintain strategic relationships with key stakeholders to support consultation for key initiatives.Represent the organisation at meetings, forums, and other events as required, with an ability to communicate confidently and advocate and negotiate outcomes as needed.Exercise financial and human resource delegations, along with ongoing management to ensure that the use of financial and human resources is optimised.As a member of the Policy leadership team, proactively develop the capability and expertise of managers and staff to improve procurement outcomes.Join our team and be part of our legacy.
