Kempsey Set on the banks of the mighty Macleay River, Kempsey was originally established as a timber and dairy hub and retains many of its historic buildings as a vestige of its past. Home to two great Australian icons – country music legend Slim Dusty, and the Akubra hat, which has been made in the town for the past 50 years – Kempsey is surrounded by national parks and just a short drive from the beautiful beaches of the Macleay Valley Coast. The Kempsey District Hospital is a 81 bed level three facility with a level four 24-hour Emergency Department and a range of specialist services including, high dependency, general medicine, surgical day procedures, obstetrics, drug and alcohol, mental health, renal dialysis and rehabilitation. Additional services include physiotherapy, dietetics, social work, occupational therapy and Aboriginal health. Diagnostic services include onsite pathology, CT scans, ultrasound and general x-ray. MNCLHD provides a diverse range of services to a population of approximately 215,000 people. It has a workforce of 4,694 across seven hospital sites and 12 Community Health Centres. Sound knowledge and skills in relevant clinical practice. Demonstrated clinical problem solving skills to maximise patient care. Proven effective clinical communication through the use of information technology and written, verbal and interpersonal skills. Ability to plan and coordinate patient care in a multidisciplinary team environment providing outcome based care.
