Teaching Assistant Apprenticeship Level 3 Two Rivers High School, Torc Campus, Silverlink Road, Tamworth, Staffordshire, B77 2HJ Summary of the apprenticeship We are seeking an enthusiastic, caring and hardworking individual to work across various areas of the high school. This will include support in classrooms, working with small groups, and providing care over the lunchtime period.
What will the apprentice do at work? Assisting with the general pastoral care of students during the school day Developing an understanding of the learning needs of students and using this knowledge to support them to become independent learners in the classroom Taking into account a student's learning needs and ensuring their access to the lesson and its content through appropriate clarification, explanations, and use of equipment and materials Monitoring students' responses to learning activities and progress towards targets, recording achievements and providing feedback to teachers Assisting in the implementation and tracking of student targets Providing support for students' emotional and social needs by encouraging and modeling positive behavior and demonstrating high expectations, in line with the school's Behaviour Policy Being aware of and complying with policies and procedures relating to child protection, security, confidentiality, and data protection, reporting all concerns to an appropriate person The apprentice's training schedule Teaching Assistant Level 3 Day release at Tamworth campus during term-time only Prior to enrolment, apprentices must provide a copy of their Level 2 or above qualification in both English and maths Start Date As soon as possible - to be confirmed.
Duration 18 Months
Monday to Friday - working day to be discussed at interview. Total hours per week: 30 hours.
Pay rate £12,347.46 for the first year, with an age-related increase for the remainder. Please note: This is a term-time only role, so your yearly wage will be £8,649.60 based on total paid weeks of 45.05 and total working weeks of 39. The above salary is the full-time equivalent (37 hours over 52.143 weeks).
Requirements and prospects Skills Initiative Qualifications required GCSE or equivalent Maths and English (Grade C or 4 and above) essential Possibility of full-time job when apprenticeship is completed.
Other things to consider A clear DBS check will be essential for this role. Candidates will be required to attend day release at either Cannock or Tamworth Campus. Applicants must be aware that they will be required to attend an Information Advice and Guidance session at one of our Campuses in order to progress further in this vacancy. During the session, candidates must complete baseline assessments and will have the opportunity to ask questions regarding the qualification.
