About Your New Role Freedom Constructions QLD is looking for a full-time Building/Construction Estimator based in Cairns, QLD. In this role, you will report directly to the Managing Director and be accountable for managing the tender and quoting pipeline, as well as developing comprehensive scopes of work to support commercial and government projects.
Your Responsibilities Include: Managing and preparing accurate tenders, quotes, and variations Conducting detailed site visits to develop comprehensive scopes of work Communicating effectively with subcontractors and suppliers to obtain accurate pricing Completing take-offs and creating detailed construction schedules Ensuring project deadlines and tender submission dates are met Reading and interpreting plans accurately for effective estimation Collaborating closely with the team to ensure high-quality outcomes for projects Who We're Looking For To qualify, you will need proven experience in estimating, quoting, and tender writing , as well as the ability to read and interpret plans.
Additionally, the following skills and background will be highly valued:
Experience with tools such as Buildsoft Cubit, BuilderTrend, Wunderbuild, Microsoft Project, and Microsoft Office A valid Driver's Licence and Construction White Card Certificate IV in Building and Construction (Estimating) or a Certificate III in Carpentry Background in design and contracts administration (preferred but not essential) As our ideal candidate, you will possess strong communication and collaboration skills, a keen eye for detail, and a commitment to high-quality outcomes. You will also bring an honest and easy-going personality, with an eagerness to learn and grow within the company.
