The Opportunity Aviagen Australia is looking for two full-time Assistant Farm Managers based in Wellington, NSW .
Each Assistant Farm Manager will be based on one farm within the Wellington Complex, reporting directly to the Farm Manager, and will assist with day-to-day operations, supporting production objectives, and stepping up in the Manager's absence.
More specifically, your responsibilities include but are not limited to:
Managing stock to achieve production standards, including feed ordering and vaccination programs Leading and developing farm staff, including recruitment, training, and performance management Conducting audits with a focus on biosecurity, health, and safety Coordinating maintenance schedules and ensuring facilities are clean and operational Controlling costs and participating in budget planning processes Promoting and maintaining health and safety compliance Preparing and submitting timely and accurate farm reports What We Need From You To qualify, you will need a high level of poultry knowledge and a proven record of leadership and management . A minimum of 2 years experience in poultry production operations will also be essential. Additionally, experience in rearing and production operations and the ability to step into a second-in-command (2IC) role are critical for this position.
Additionally, the following skills and background will be highly valued:
Knowledge and understanding of the Animal Welfare codes Expertise in animal husbandry practices and animal health issues Planning, organisational, and interpersonal skills Effective communication and reporting abilities Staff leadership, development, and management As our ideal candidate, you will possess the leadership skills necessary to inspire and manage a team, alongside a proactive, hands-on approach to ensure high standards are consistently met.
