As part of our growth, we are seeking a talented & experienced Employment & Industrial Relations In-House Lawyer to join our team, working closely with senior executives across our 25 subsidiaries.
Position Overview: As the Employment & Industrial Relations In-House Lawyer , you will play a pivotal role in providing expert legal guidance and support on a wide range of employment and industrial relations matters. Reporting directly to the Group Counsel, you will draft employment contracts, advise on industrial relations issues, and assist with disciplinary and counseling processes. This role offers the opportunity to contribute to high-level decision-making in a fast-paced, collaborative environment.
Key Responsibilities: Draft, review, and negotiate employment contracts, ensuring compliance with applicable laws and regulations. Provide legal advice on employment and industrial relations matters, including workplace policies, award interpretation, and enterprise agreements. Support the Group Counsel in managing employment-related disputes, grievances, performance management, and investigations. Stay up-to-date on employment law and industrial relations legislation, ensuring company policies are compliant. Develop and deliver training to management on employment law and best practices. Collaborate with HR and internal stakeholders to implement legally compliant HR strategies. Qualifications and Experience: A minimum of 5 years post-qualification experience as an employment lawyer, with a strong focus on both employment law and industrial relations. Experience in drafting and negotiating employment contracts and advising on workplace policies. Experience working in or advising ASX-listed companies is highly desirable. Comprehensive knowledge of employment law, industrial relations legislation, and best practices in Australia. Strong communication skills, with the ability to provide clear and practical legal advice to internal stakeholders. Proven ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment.
