About the Role The Employment Coach assists with the delivery of WMQ's NDIS Work Skills Training service. We support young people with disability, autism or with other support needs to succeed in their work readiness goals through a journey of Discovery including onsite work training, which leads to individualised work experience opportunities.
Key Role Accountabilities: Align one's workplace behaviour in accordance with the Wesley Charter and Wesley Mission Queensland's Vision, Mission and Values Work from a strengths-based perspective to assist participants to meet their identified needsAssist in the development, evaluation and administration of service Deliver learning materials in a workshop format following universal design principles with a diverse range of participants Communicate with families about participant progress as needed Direct volunteers in the training space Adapt materials where necessary to meet the individual learning needs of participants Effectively time manage work days to ensure the full utilisation of working hours and delivery of service Connect with businesses and organisations within the local community to develop relationships for work site visits, work experience and employment opportunities for participantsProvide superior customer service that always exceeds customer expectationsComply with all organisational Policy and Procedures, as well as WH&S StandardsProvide effective communication and reporting to management and stakeholders as requested Work in accordance with the NDIS Quality and Safeguards Commission About You Completion of the NDIS Quality and Safeguards Worker Orientation Module "Quality, Safety and You", and "New Worker NDIS Induction" Module An understanding of issues and support requirements relating to employment for adults with disability, autism and with significant support needs Demonstrated understanding of employment barriers for adults with disability Demonstrated high level presentation, written, verbal and interpersonal skills including the ability to communicate professionally and respectfully with colleagues, participants and community members Excellent skills in the Microsoft Office suite of applications particularly PowerPoint, Word, Outlook and Excel Hold a current Blue Card and NDIS Worker Screening Clearance Willingness to work within the Philosophy, Policies and Procedures of Wesley Mission Queensland and The Uniting Church in AustraliaDesirable: Tertiary qualifications in youth work, education, disability support or related discipline and / or equivalent experience. Demonstrated experience in delivery of workshop style training for adults with disability, autism or diverse support needs. Demonstrated understanding and commitment to the principles of equal employment opportunity, Work, Health and Safety and continuous quality improvement.
