Job Purpose The Employee Relations Specialist plays a critical role within U-Go Mobility's People & Culture Team, providing expert employee relations advice and practical solutions to complex matters across a network of 5 depots.
The role will support people leaders to ensure that U-Go Employee Relations (ER) programs, policies and procedures are aligned to legislative requirements (including Enterprise Agreement) and business needs, as well as supporting employees with fair processes and outcomes.
Reporting to and working in conjunction with the Head of People & Culture, this role is designed to enable leaders to better understand ER challenges and opportunities, and to confidently manage ER issues.
Responsibilities Provide expert ER advice, conduct investigations into complex and serious matters, engage with unions, legal counsel and other stakeholders, and manage ER policy development, governance and reporting.Lead case management, supporting our people leaders to effectively manage ER issues such as, but not limited to, performance management, misconduct, grievances, attendance management, and addressing conduct matters, consistent with best practice protocols.Prepare accurate and timely communication including sensitive correspondence, reports and briefings.Assist with the preparation of written submissions for the Industrial Relations Commission.Assist with the representation of U-Go Mobility before the Industrial Relations Commission.Perform other duties as instructed that are reasonably within your competency, skills and training.Qualifications and Experience A good understanding of current ER landscape, strong knowledge of Australian employment laws, industrial relations frameworks and collective agreements.Extensive experience in an employee relations position within a unionised environment.Demonstrated experience in case management, investigation process and mediation and settlement expertise.Experience in development of ER strategies, policies and approaches.Demonstrated experience coaching and upskilling people leaders in employee relations issues.Relevant tertiary qualifications – Employee Relations, Employment Law.Exceptional communication and interpersonal skills will be vital for negotiations and facilitating discussions.Strong analytical and problem-solving skills will enable you to identify issues, assess potential solutions, and implement effective strategies.Who are we?
