About the Role
This full-time role is an opportunity to take on unique workplace tasks. These include training and employee representation responsibilities for people with disability who work at Bedford and receive NDIS funding. The focus of the role is to implement a person-centred approach, ensuring our supported employees are always at the centre of, and involved in decision making relevant to them.
You will:
Utilise a case management approach to assist employees with disability to identify strategies to achieve their workplace goals Listen to the thoughts, goals, concerns, and aspirations of our employees with disability Assist in the navigation of day-to-day challenges including incident management, behaviours of concern, and advocacy Regularly complete service delivery reviews for employees with disability Complete accurate and detailed wage assessment documentation using the appropriate Fair Work Award instrument About You
As a reputable and recognised NDIS provider of choice we place a high value on previous experience working within the disability sector. However, we appreciate that some skills can be taught whereas others such as genuine passion for supporting people of all abilities to achieve their goals and dreams can be more difficult to train. With this in mind, we invite applications from people with a qualification in disability who may not have worked in the sector, this includes people with lived experience with disability and an honest desire to impact the lives of people with disability in a positive way.
Other knowledge, skills and attributes include:
A qualification in Disability, Mental Health, Developmental Education, or Psychology Cert IV in Training and Assessment (desired) Understanding of the NDIS and the complexities of intellectual disabilities Attention to detail and analytical skills Effective communication and problem-solving skills For this role the following documents must be provided prior to a formal offer of employment with Bedford.
An acceptable clearance to work in the disability sector (DHS / DCSI / NDIS) A National Police Clearance (no older than six months) Driver's Licence Photo ID Evidence of right to work in Australia What's in it for you?
