We are currently seeking a Business Analyst to join a leading State Government department on their transformative Portfolio, Assets and Contracts Technology Project through until 30 June 2025 & potentially beyond. This role will uplift the IT capabilities for the Infrastructure Services Division and leverage a centralised data platform to provide advanced reporting and analysis.
Key Responsibilities Play a key role in the research, analysis and evaluation of the department's asset data sources, structures, governance, reporting and digital service management requirements. Gathering, validating and documenting business and reporting requirements. Investigate problems, analyse options and provide recommendations for new and existing solutions. Identify, analyse and manage relationships with and between stakeholders at multiple levels. Model business processes and identify opportunities for process improvements. Identify issues, risks and benefits of existing and proposed solutions and outline business impacts. Estimate costs and identify business savings. Develop and maintain comprehensive documentation, including business requirements, requirements traceability matrix, process documentation and user guides. Validate that solutions meet both technical and business needs through testing and user acceptance reviews. Support business transition and help to establish change. Draft briefing notes, presentations and memos to gain internal approvals for data, technology and analytics solutions that best meet the needs of the department. Research and prepare draft reports, briefing materials and correspondence for submission to senior management. We are looking for someone with: Experience in the development and delivery of technical/data/reporting solutions. The ability to make decisions around things such as requirement prioritisation, scope, assessing viability of solutions. Excellent analytical skills - the ability to identify trends, patterns and insights from data. Confident presentation skills - ability to write and speak clearly to easily communicate complex ideas in a way that is easy to understand. Communication skills with effective stakeholder management & conflict resolution skills. Requirement gathering is a key part of the role so the ability to ask the right questions and correctly understand the information received is essential. Excellent documentation and writing skills. The ability to present findings and recommendations to senior leaders and to manage stakeholder meetings. Interested?
