Our 20-strong Surface Water team has global coverage and significant public and private sector consulting experience in hydrology, water resources assessment, hydrometrics, monitoring, flood risk, stormwater management, mine water management, impact assessments and water access and licensing requirements.

A rare and exciting opportunity has arisen in the W&L Division to lead and develop the Surface Water & Land Team as Team Manager. This is a fantastic opportunity for someone who has a passion to support, mentor, motivate and manage a team, as well as provide high-quality strategic business planning, to ensure continued opportunities for our people.
Here's what you can expect Play a pivotal role in the growth of our Surface Water practice at EMM. Working with the other W&L Team Managers to lead the development, implementation and tracking of the yearly planning and strategy for the W&L Division. Oversee and drive the growth and development of the SW&L team (in consultation with the Division Leader, Team Managers, Team Leaders, and Technical Leads), both in terms of people and quality of output. Work with Division Leader, Team Managers and Team Leaders to gain clarity over long-term resourcing needs and in-accordance with the Division strategy and backlog. Liaise with Team Leaders to coordinate resourcing/availability ensuring fair allocation of work. Based on resourcing needs, develop and implement the recruitment strategy for the SW&L team. Lead and guide the growth and development of the Team Leaders and Technical Leads, giving them the confidence and opportunity to develop others within the team. Conduct performance reviews for Team Leaders through both scheduled and ongoing appraisal/feedback mechanisms. Marketing and business development activities. Shared accountability for key financial metrics. Act as either Project Director or Project Managerwith responsibility for successful project delivery including monitoring project budgets, tracking schedules and outputs and outcome evaluation. Lead significant hydrological assessments and a range of water management projects across the globe and across a variety of sectors and industries, including renewables, mining, infrastructure, water infrastructure, transport, waste management covering related studies. Here's what you'll bring to have impact A strong focus on people and their ongoing growth and development, including high levels of emotional intelligence. Ability to lead leaders, including ability to mentor and nurture a team through motivational and inspirational leadership. A minimum of 15 years' of industry experience in hydrology/water engineering or a closely related field as either a consultant or in an industry capacity for mining or infrastructure projects Expertise in scoping, leading the technical components of hydrological and surface water investigations such as rainfall, flow and flood analyses, flood modelling, flood mapping and risk assessments, water balance studies, water quality assessment, integrated water resources management and surface water/stormwater management. Experience in strategic thinking and business planning. Ability to work collaboratively across disciplines with ability to leverage internal contacts. Superior project management and project delivery skills. Excellent verbal and written communication skills. Ability to work effectively as part of a team and independently. Flexibility to work across a range of projects across sectors and industries, including renewables, mining, infrastructure, transport. Maintain a high level of integrity and discretion.
