This is a permanent, full-time position at Leonora Operations on an 8 days on, 6 days off roster.Reporting to the Health and Safety Superintendent, you will ensure emergency management systems are implemented and maintained while providing expert emergency management advice and support to ensure the safety and well-being of all personnel at the Operations.The opportunityEnsure compliance with relevant WHS Act and Regulations, Standards, and best practices.Conduct risk assessments to identify potential emergency scenarios and develop mitigation strategies.Develop, implement, and regularly update emergency response plans, procedures and supporting documents as part of the Mine Safety Management System (MSMS).Ensure emergency preparedness for the operations by prioritising capability in line with emergency risks.Maintain and ensure readiness of emergency response equipment and facilities.Conduct inspections and audits of emergency response equipment and processes.Ensure the Emergency Response Team (ERT) maintains an adequate number of members with on call capacity to meet operational requirements.Lead and coordinate the ERT, ensuring high levels of preparedness, performance and capability through promotion, training and development.Provide coaching and support to the ERT to enhance their skills and knowledge, fostering a high-performing and disciplined team.Maintain operational emergency response systems including, but not limited to fire systems, lightning warning systems and alert/ evacuation systems.Coordinate first response for emergency events.Schedule and coordinate drills and simulations to test response capabilities and improve the effectiveness of emergency plans and procedures.Ensure the Emergency Management Team (EMT) is trained and prepared to lead management of emergency events.Provide emergency and non-emergency assistance and medical care as required to the operations.Assist Medics with conducting AOD (Alcohol and Other Drugs) screening on site to ensure fitness for work protocols are adhered to.Monitor and review emergency response activities to identify areas for improvement.What You Can Expect From UsA caring and supportive culture.Professional and positive team environments on site, and at all facilities.A 'grow our own' approach with a preference to develop and promote internally.Access to professional development activities and educational assistance.Competitive salary and options for salary sacrificing.Air-conditioned, comfortable accommodation facilities with private ensuite.Onsite gym, pool, recreation room, BBQ area and access to the Leonora Township facilities.Are you ready to come and build your future with us?We need the best people. People who see challenge as an opportunity for growth and value working with others towards a common goal.We would love to hear from you if you have:Certificate III Mine Emergency Response and Rescue inclusive of BG4 Breathing Apparatus and Underground Search and Rescue.Certificate IV Health Care (or equivalent)Nationally recognised unit of competency – Collect Specimens for Drugs of Abuse Testing.Current Medium Rigid (MR) Licence.Experience as a Senior ERT Member or proven experience coordinating ERT activities.Demonstrated experience in a similar position within the mining industry, including underground operations.Proven ability to remain calm and make critical decisions under pressure.Working knowledge of the Work Health and Safety Act 2020, the Work Health and Safety (Mines) Regulations 2022 and the Work Health and Safety (General) Regulations 2022.Demonstrated high level of computer literacy (MS Office, Pronto, INX, HSE management systems, and Chemalert).Does this sound like you?
