Case management is provided at some of the Doorways sites to engage people through early intervention as well as address long term disadvantage to break the cycle of poverty and alleviate financial hardship.
Our practitioners are strength based and trauma informed in their practice to build individual capacity, resilience and wellbeing.
About the role We are seeking a values-driven and proactive Emergency Relief Assessor, at our Darwin location.
Reporting to the Doorways Team Leader, this is a fixed-term, part-time position, offering 30.4 hours per week until June 30th, 2026.Salary and conditions are in accordance with the SCHADS Award, level 3.You will successfully Conduct interviews and assessment for emergency relief (ER) with community members in accordance with Doorways guidelinesDetermine the assistance to be provided in line with Doorways standards of practiceCommunity members are assisted to access support services through referral and advocacy to service providers within and external to The Salvation Army, where appropriateEscalate complex or unresolved mattersAccurate, up-to-date client records and data is maintained for all clients in accordance with TSA standards and procedures, using all relevant TSA systems including SAMISYou will have (Requisite Skills & Qualifications)Diploma level (preferred) or Certificate IV (minimum) qualification in a related field (Community Servicesetc)Experience working in the community services sectorExperience working with people from culturally and linguistically diverse backgrounds would be beneficial.Experience working in a fast-paced environment (contact centre) would be highly regarded (for Phone Line ER Assessors)A national Criminal History check is requiredA current and valid Working with Children's CheckWhat we offer As a registered NFP we offer our eligible employees real and meaningful benefits such as; NFP salary packaging ($15,900 tax free) plus meals and entertainment benefit ($2,650) Flexible working conditions Health, fitness and financial discounts / benefits Paid parental leave - 12 weeks Up to 8 weeks leave per year through our purchase leave scheme?
