We are seeking a Consultant Emergency Medicine to be part of a great team in a stunning setting in North West Tasmania.Fantastic relaxed lifestyle.Competitive remuneration package up to $650,000+ depending on experience.Great range of property types and significantly more affordable than mainland Australia.Fly to Melbourne in under an hour.Contemporary, well equipped work environments.The Role and HospitalWe are seeking a motivated and experienced Consultant/Staff Specialist in Emergency Medicine, who will work as part of the Department of Emergency Medicine across the North West Region. Servicing a population of approximately 116,000, the Staff Specialist provides specialist emergency medical care to patients attending the Department of Emergency Medicine at the North West Regional Hospital (NWRH) and Mersey Community Hospital (MCH).The NWRH and MCH Emergency Departments have approximately 30,000 presentations annually and treat a broad range of patients. The NWRH is the regional trauma centre with a 25% admission rate. The MCH is a sub-acute hospital with limited services and a 15% admission rate. The MCH is staffed with both FACEM and FACRRM/FRACGPs.The NWRH ED is accredited by the Australasian College for Emergency Medicine for 24 months advanced training in Emergency Medicine. The Emergency Department at MCH is accredited for emergency medicine certificate and diploma courses. The Tasmania Health Service – North West Region also has other accredited teaching programs including medicine, surgery, anaesthetics, obstetrics and gynaecology, paediatrics and intensive care.RequirementsApplicants should be registered (or eligible for registration) as a specialist with the Medical Board of Australia and be a Fellow of the Australasian College for Emergency Medicine (FACEM) or equivalent as an overseas trained specialist who has completed their training in either the UK, Ireland, Canada, USA (ABEM certified) or New Zealand.The LocationThe North West is a region full of stunning white beaches, top class restaurants and vineyards.
