Key Responsibilities and Functions
Assist Emergency Management Coordinator and Manager Regulatory and Emergency Services with any administration and organizational tasking.
Assist in the planning and execution of emergency management projects, ensuring timelines, budgets, and objectives are met while maintaining compliance with relevant regulations and standards.
Foster strong relationships with local agencies, community organizations, and government bodies to facilitate collaboration and resource sharing during emergency management initiatives.
Collect, analyze, and maintain data related to emergency management projects, preparing reports and presentations to communicate progress and outcomes to stakeholders and decision-makers.
Support the development and delivery of training programs and workshops aimed at enhancing community awareness and preparedness for emergencies.
Identify areas for improvement in emergency management processes and contribute to the development of best practices and innovative solutions to enhance overall effectiveness.
Provide logistical and administrative support during emergency responses, ensuring that all necessary resources are available and coordinated effectively.
This Position Description is operational during times of declared emergency and outside of these times.
During times of declared emergencies, the ACCOUNTABILITY AND EXTENT OF AUTHORITY arrangements detailed within the State Emergency Management Plan (SEMP) take precedence.
In times when Emergency Management arrangements as detailed within the SEMP are not in effect, the role's ordinary accountability and extent of authority applies.

Desired Skills and Experience Key Selection Criteria
Excellent verbal and written communication skills, able to enable clear direction and to work professionally and collaboratively with external and internal stakeholders.
Demonstrated ability to work in a calm and efficient manner and to develop innovative solutions while under pressure.
Good working knowledge of council resources and operations and the locality's geography, infrastructure, services and community.
Essential qualifications and experience
Previous administration support experience Working with Children's Check Willingness to undergo a Police Check.
Desirable qualifications and experience
Introduction to Emergency Management and/or an understanding of Victoria's Emergency Management planning framework.
