(pro rata)Permanent, temporary, full-time and part-time positionsAbout the Role As an Emergency Department Consultant, you will play a pivotal role in providing the highest standard of clinical care to patients in the Emergency Department. You will be responsible for leading a multidisciplinary team to ensure excellent patient outcomes, working closely with doctors, nurses, and allied health professionals. Your leadership will help guide clinical practices in line with the Australasian College for Emergency Medicine standards, departmental policies, and hospital protocols. You will be at the forefront of patient care, managing complex cases while mentoring junior staff and fostering a collaborative approach to emergency medicine.
In addition to your clinical responsibilities, you will actively contribute to the education and development of trainee medical officers, interns, and medical students. You will also have the opportunity to participate in clinical audits, quality and safety initiatives, and clinical risk management activities, ensuring continuous improvement within the department. Furthermore, your role will involve involvement in research and ongoing medical education, keeping you at the cutting edge of emergency medicine. About You We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Emergency Department Consultant to join our dynamic team. You will have the following qualifications, skills, and experience:
Essential Qualifications: Fellow of the Australasian College of Emergency Medicine (FACEM) or equivalent, with registration as a Specialist in Emergency Medicine with AHPRA.Leadership & Clinical Expertise: Proven ability to deliver high-standard clinical care in emergency medicine, with strong leadership and mentoring skills.Experience & Knowledge: Extensive clinical experience in an emergency department setting, with a focus on quality improvement and teaching undergraduate and postgraduate medical staff.Commitment to Professional Development: Ongoing participation in continuing professional development and up-to-date knowledge of emergency medicine management and quality improvement principles.About CALHN The Central Adelaide Local Health Network includes South Australia's major quaternary facility, the Royal Adelaide Hospital, The Queen Elizabeth Hospital, the Hampstead Rehabilitation Centre, and the Repat Health Precinct.
