The Office of the Technical Regulator (OTR) monitors and regulates the safety and technical standards for electrical, gas and plumbing installations, as well as electricity, gas, water and sewerage network infrastructure.
The OTR carries out an extensive range of activities.
These activities oversee the administration, compliance and performance of individuals, businesses and organisations that operate in these industries.

Key Selection Criteria:
Please only address the dot points listed below in your application: Emergency Management and Risk: Strong knowledge of modern emergency management, audit practices, and risk management.Energy Sector Understanding: Knowledge of government roles and regulatory bodies in the energy industry (e.g., AER, AEMC, ESCOSA, AEMO), particularly in relation to emergency preparation and response.Project Management Experience: Proven ability to manage emergency initiatives, exercises, and audit/risk functions.Report Preparation: Skilled in drafting briefings, Ministerial responses, and handling confidential or sensitive reports.Qualifications:
An appropriate tertiary qualification in emergency management, engineering, economics, commerce (or similar).
Remuneration:
ASO5 salary range, $85,790 - $95,413 + superannuation
Full-time role, working 37.5 hours per week.
Special Conditions:
- The incumbent will be required to maintain a safe working environment by adopting appropriate hazard management practices consistent with the role.
- Some out-of-hours work may be required.
Extensive out-of-hours work is likely to be required in the event of an energy emergency incident or other emergency requiring State Emergency Centre or Zone Emergency Support Team involvement.
