This role will be focused on their start up, working on a vision to help Australian households reduce their electricity bills, make the most of their solar and contribute to a low-carbon future through energy visibility.
The Role:This Embedded Software Engineer role suits someone who is passionate about sustainability, energy efficiency and the development of consumer technology products that harness the power of Data, IoT and Digital.You will be a curious problem solver who loves a challenge with a spirit of adventure and ability to switch between research, deep thinking and experimenting/developing. Key Responsibilities: Conduct in-depth research and apply advanced mathematical principles to solve complex engineering challengesDesign and implement solutions using C or C++ programming languagesCollaborate with cross-functional teams on research projects and experimental designsCommunicate technical concepts effectively to both technical and non-technical stakeholdersLead experiments and analyse results to continuously improve our sensor technologiesEssential Skills Required: PhD in Engineering, Mathematics, or a closely related field to electrical engineering and mathematics (strong foundation in advanced engineering mathematics: Linear algebra (vector/matrix arithmetic), Complex numbers, Statistics, Basic Calculus)Proficiency in C or C++ programmingEngineering mathematics, particularly applied in research contextsExperience in research and experimental methodologyExcellent communication skills, with an ability to present complex ideas clearlyNice to have/familiarity with: Armadillo libraryFourier transformsExperience with: electrical engineering embedded design and sensors, data collection and thus what quality issues there may be with itModern C++ (C++20 and above)GnuplotIndependent Component Analysis (ICA)/Blind Source Separation (BSS)Numeric optimisation methodsPlease submit your resume and cover letter in Microsoft WORD format only.This opportunity is open to candidates with an unrestricted Australian work visa residing in Melbourne or Sydney.
