Embedded Linux Engineer

Company: AppLocation SystemsLocation: Victoria, BC or remote (Canada wide)We are seeking an experienced and highly motivated Embedded Linux Engineer to join our team. The ideal candidate will have extensive experience with Yocto, BitBake, generating BSPs, NXP devices, C, C++, and shell scripting.Responsibilities:Design, develop, and maintain embedded Linux systems for a range of devices.Collaborate with cross-functional teams to develop, test, and integrate software into hardware systems.Develop and maintain software documentation and specifications.Continuously evaluate and improve existing software and systems.Participate in code reviews and contribute to the development of best practices.Work with customers and vendors to resolve issues related to embedded Linux systems.Requirements:Strong knowledge of Yocto, BitBake, and generating BSPs.Experience with NXP devices.Strong experience with C, C++, and shell scripting.Experience with embedded Linux systems.Ability to rapidly adapt to new devices and port code.Strong problem-solving and analytical skills.Excellent communication and collaboration skills.Bachelor's or Master's degree in Computer Science, Electrical Engineering, or a related field.Preferred qualifications:Experience with communication protocols such as UART, I2C, SPI, and Ethernet.Familiarity with version control systems such as Git.Familiarity with build systems such as make or CMake.If you are a highly motivated and experienced engineer with a passion for embedded Linux systems, we encourage you to apply for this exciting opportunity.
