APS6 Governance Officer | 6-month NOG contract | Immediate Start | Baseline
Contribute your governance and administration expertise to an esteemed historical institution.
Work closely with directors and the organisation's Board, engage with internal and external stakeholders, and deliver high-quality written work to support day to day governance operations.
This is a six-month contract with an immediate start and the possibility for further extension.
About the role
Working within a small team, you'll be directly engaged in governance activities within the agency and to support the Board and the Audit, Finance and Risk Committee.
You will also liaise with stakeholders to coordinate operational activities, and apply your strong understanding of APS frameworks to producing reports and correspondence.
The key responsibilities:
Administration of governance throughout the organisation and contributing to corporate and strategic planning requirements Build, develop and maintain stakeholder relationships, both internal and external, and deliver on information requests (PIDs, FOIs, etc.)
Provide administrative and secretarial support to the Board for their quarterly meeting, organising travel, producing meeting minutes and reports, and following up on action items The ideal candidate: Experience in governance and secretarial roles in the public sector, and understanding of relevant legislation Great written and oral communication skills, good time management, and an ability to produce high-quality documents Someone who highly values confidentiality and privacy, and able to act with discretion when required Experience with cultural, archival, or historical institutions highly regarded
