As an Eligibility Officer, you will be the first point of contact in the lodgment of newly received Workers Compensation claims. You'll be responsible for using claims legislation and case law to coordinate and obtain information from key stakeholders to determine the acceptance or rejection of claims, and communicate decisions and updates with Injured Workers and Employers. The key focus of the Eligibility process is to determine, for recently lodged claims, if the claims is compensible within Workers Compensation frameworks, and investigating if the injury sustained is as a result of work.
In this fast-paced role, you'll utilize your analytical skills and technical knowledge to make fair and accurate decisions on claims within 28 days. You'll also be responsible for conducting investigations as necessary to ensure every decision made for new claims is of the highest quality and consideration for our customers.
How you'll make an impact You will add value to Gallagher Bassett across the following: Making sustainable, appropriate and quality initial liability determinations for your portfolio of Work Cover claims within 28 daysCommunicating claims updates and outcomes to injured workers and employers relating to the Eligibility processDriving an effective investigatory process in order to make quality decision when determining initial liability for claimsProviding a quality customer service experience for our internal and external customersAccurately calculating all pre-injury average weekly earnings for injured workersCommunicating the initial decision rational to the Dispute Resolution Team to support the conciliation processWorking together with your Team Manager, Case Managers, Technical Managers and WorkSafe staff to determine liability and review of entitlement About you What are we looking for?
Our Eligibility team is looking for a candidate who either already has, or wants to develop their technical skills in the Eligibility process and also has:
