We are seeking a highly motivated and skilled Electronics Engineer to join our growing team.
As the Electronics Engineer at AIM Defence, you will play a crucial role in leading the design, development, and implementation of embedded solutions for our cutting-edge defence technologies. We are looking for candidates who are flexible, adaptable, and available to work onsite at our Melbourne facility.
What You'll Do Work as part of a team to design, develop, and optimise embedded systems for high-performance defence applications. Write, modify, and debug software for embedded systems and microcontrollers. Produce PCB designs, create simulations, and source components/vendors. Document research, development, and testing processes to ensure quality and maintainability. Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams to define software requirements and specifications. Contribute to system architecture discussions and decisions. Provide technical support and mentorship to fellow team members. Participate in project planning, estimation, and scheduling. What You'll Bring Bachelor's degree in Electrical/Mechatronics/Computer Engineering, or related discipline. 2+ years of experience in C and embedded software development. 2+ years of experience in electrical design and manufacture. Experience working with real-time operating systems and microcontrollers. Experience working with PCB design (Altium, KiCAD, etc). Strong knowledge with embedded communication interfaces (SPI, UART, I2C, CAN, Ethernet). Proficient with source control and configuration management systems. Excellent time management and prioritization skills. Strong problem-solving abilities and attention to detail. As a Defence security clearance is required for this role, applicants must be Australian citizens and eligible to obtain and maintain a Baseline clearance.
