Global Communication Services is seeking applicants for an apprenticeship in a highly sought after and progressive trade in the mining industry – Electronics & Communications Technician.
This is a residential role: Only candidates living in the Kalgoorlie region will be considered.
Our company: Global Communication Services specialises in providing radio communications and data systems for surface and underground mining, industrial and commercial customers.
GCS is part of the Australian owned and run company, Hahn Electrical.
The position: As an apprentice Electronics & Communications Technician, you will complete a Certificate III in Electronics and Communications.
You will be part of a team that will perform project, installation, and maintenance works - both in workshops and field locations.
The range of technologies will include but not be limited to, underground leaky feeder radio systems, wide area radio networks, fibre optic and data networks, Wi-Fi, remote control and monitoring systems, microwave systems and general electronic repairs.
To be suitable for this position you require the following: Current WA Drivers Licence.Interest in RF, Electronics, ICT, Networking and various other Technologies.Sound written and verbal communication skills.Self-motivation and excellent time management skills.Ability to learn new information quickly.Intermediate to advanced computer literacy.Willingness to travel for extended periods of time within WA and interstate.A good understanding and commitment to safety.You will be required to pass a pre-employment medical including a drug and alcohol screen.
