You will play a critical role in supporting our test and trial activities, both in the lab and in the field, contributing directly to the enhancement of Defence capability.
Reporting to the Test & Trials Lead, your main responsibilities will include: Operating RF & EW equipment in both laboratory and field-deployed environments in support of test and trial activitiesPrototyping, assembling, testing, verifying, and debugging RF and electronic systems and subsystemsDeveloping wiring harnesses and terminating cables in support of system integration activitiesAssisting with the preparation and planning of deploymentsConducting post-deployment activities including report writingCarrying out system inspections and calibrations in accordance with system specifications and contract schedulesTroubleshooting, investigating, diagnosing, and solving specialised systems software and hardware faultsWriting technical documentation, including test plans, procedures and reportsProviding technical support to customers and clientsWorking closely with the wider engineering and technical team to achieve project aimsTo succeed in the role, you will have:Sound working knowledge of electronics, radiofrequency, and microwave signalsA background and understanding of digital and analogue electronicsCabling, hardware, and electronics assembly skillsExperience with RF testing and verification processesSkills in technical writing and reportingExperience working with schematic editors such as Altium is desirableAn Australian government security clearance up to NV2, or be willing to obtain one (must hold Australian Citizenship)A willingness to travel for deploymentA positive, solutions-focused outlookThe ability to build trust and effectively liaise with internal and external stakeholdersYou must be an Australian citizen to be considered for this role.
