About the role
As the Electricity Contract Portfolio Leader at EnergyAustralia, you'll optimise and manage contracts for thermal, pumped hydro, renewable, and battery assets, ensuring compliance and driving commercial performance. You'll shape asset service agreements, integrate new assets into trading strategies, and bridge teams across Physical Markets, Forward Trading, and Trading Operations for seamless collaboration.
This critical role will see you involved in the following:
Contribute to contract drafting to ensure that the facility can be operated in the participating markets, in compliance with relevant market rules.
Lead regular internal reviews to monitor and drive the financial performance of the contracted assets in spot and forward electricity markets, recommending improvements.
Liaise with the Digital and Compliance team to implement any system changes required to maintain regulatory compliance.
Liaise and support the Portfolio Development team during the negotiation of the service agreements and evaluation of new opportunities
Ultimate owner of contracts to drive and manage operational performance in conjunction with Physical Markets and delivering against business plan targets.
About you
As our new Electricity Contract Portfolio Leader, you will have expertise in spot market operations, generation assets, and energy sector compliance. You will bring strong commercial acumen, project management abilities, and effective negotiation skills. You will be a flexible and proactive contributor to a multi-disciplined team, playing a key role in our growing wholesale energy market portfolio.
Additionally, you will bring:
Passion to drive operational and commercial performance outcomes
Tertiary qualification in a numerate or engineering discipline
Strong stakeholder management skills and ability to adapt to internal and external needs
Conceptual and analytical thinker combined with the ability to take a complex problem and provide a simple solution.
Ability to influence, train and educate colleagues
Previous leadership experience would be advantageous
