Mid Jan 2025 Starts, across multiple locations within Melbourne. Certification III Electrician Installer / Test Technicians. Daily duties & tasks will consist of commissioning & testing rail infrastructure projects & will see you work across multiple sites.Starting from mid Jan 25, with an initial 3 months full time guarantee period, then pivoting into different areas which include but aren't limited to operating in a workshop building new rail location boxes, from the ground up to final test & commissioning.Required Skills, Experience & Competencies: Must hold ARTC VIC & NSW in Rail Signalling Statement Of Competency (SOC) & Certification III or Certification IV.A Grade Electrical License with a Certificate Of Proficiency.Minimum of 12 months signalling onsite project experience.Valid driver's license and willingness to travel to different work sites as & when required to do so.Proven experience working in the rail industry, preferably in signalling maintenance or installation.Strong knowledge of signalling principles, standards and regulations, and relevant rail safety standards.Proficiency in interpreting technical drawings, schematics, and wiring diagrams.Full time unlimited Australian working rights.Hold an RIW Card, or be able to pass pre-med with D&A.Be able to obtain an Australian federal police check.What's on offer: Site Locations mainly consisting but not limited to Bendigo, South Dynon & Sunbury.Shifts – 40 Hours per week, consisting of primarily working on a Mon– Fri Day shift basis, with typical working hours of 7am-3.30pm, with overtime & night shift works as & when required.Work Ute Included, which will be shared between 2 & can be taken home to be used to & from works.How will you make a difference?As a member of the Signal Controls Systems Team this role will be responsible for installing, maintaining, and repairing rail systems to ensure the safe and efficient operation of customer and client rail networks.
What will your typical day look like? Install, test, and commission signalling equipment including track circuits, point machines, signals, and train control systems.Conduct routine inspections and preventative maintenance to ensure the integrity and reliability of rail infrastructure.Troubleshoot and diagnose faults in rail systems, utilising technical expertise and diagnostic tools to identify and rectify issues promptly.Collaborate with engineering teams to implement signalling upgrades and modifications, adhering to industry standards and regulatory requirements.Provide technical support during commissioning activities and ensure compliance with safety protocols and procedures.Document maintenance activities, test results, and equipment performance to maintain accurate records and support continuous improvement initiatives.Assist in the development of training materials and provide mentoring and guidance to junior staff and apprentices.In return the successful applicant will have the opportunity to work in a great team environment within rail corridor & workshop throughout 2025.
