Your new role:Reporting to the maintenance manager and working as part of a cross-functional operations maintenance team, you will be integral in the execution of the Kalfresh automation project, focused on farm, processing, and packing equipment. The installation, optimisation, and continuous improvement of new and existing automated lines will be your primary responsibility. The right person is just as comfortable in the workshop on welder or lathe as they are plugged into a PLC in the office or packing shed.
This is a technical hands-on role in a fast-paced environment, with a strong focus on best practice industrial automation and continuous improvement. You will have exposure to pre- and post-harvest, Kalfresh operates several processing and packing production lines each containing a mixture of integrated OEM, custom designed equipment, manual operated and automated equipment.
On any given day this job may include:
Monitoring, operation, fault finding, and repair of automated produce farming and processing equipment in a fast-paced production environment.Installation, set up, and testing of new food processing and packing equipment.Installation or relocation, modification, testing, and set up of new and refurbished equipment.Troubleshoot and fix mechanical and electrical equipment issues.Coach and mentor the production team to increase their knowledge of fault correction and troubleshooting.Maximise up-time through effective execution of all maintenance-related activities.Facilitate continuous improvement activities through broad system knowledge and site-specific enhancements.About you:Strong mechanical and/or electrical aptitude, with excellent fault finding and troubleshooting abilities.The ability to assimilate varied OEM technology and work with the various subcontractors in order to learn as much as you can.Previous experience maintaining automated packing equipment in a food processing environment, distribution centre or field service environment.A genuine interest in automation and technology, with the aptitude to learn new concepts and procedures.Demonstrated commitment to safe work practices and making sure processes are documented simply.Strong communicator, with the ability to work effectively with cross-functional teams.Meets the physical fitness requirements including:
Work can be in the office, in the cold room facilities, and out in the paddock in hot humid Queensland summer.Frequent walking, climbing, squatting, kneeling, and standing for long periods of time.Lifting, pulling, and pushing up to 25kgs unassisted.Ability to accurately identify colours including red, blue, white, yellow, and green.What's in it for you?Competitive salary package, above award rates.

This is a permanent full-time position based in our Kalbar office, so would ideally suit someone who lives locally or wants a tree-change to the Scenic Rim region.
