Fortescue's Hedland Operations are located on the traditional lands of the Kariyarra people.Roster: 8D/6R with adhoc nightshift requirements during shutdowns.
Residential Port Hedland
As an Electrician, you will report directly to the Electrical Tech Supervisor (Port) and will be responsible for repairing, maintaining, and improving electrical equipment to safely deliver availability and reliability. This will also include, but is not limited to, completing designated plant maintenance functions in a safe, efficient, and cost-effective manner, enabling the Port Operation to meet the present and future needs of operational requirements, and managing the plant maintenance activities with a continuous improvement and reliability philosophy.
Key ResponsibilitiesPerforming operational checks, monitoring performance and related maintenance to identify and diagnose instrumentation, electronic and electrical performance problems.Performing technical evaluations, fault finding and diagnosing problems and taking corrective action.Decommissioning and disposal of equipment as appropriate.Performing on-the-job apprentice coaching as required.Electrical statutory testing and inspections.Carrying out tasks within Time, Budget and standard.During Shutdowns, be required to provide Permit coordination coverage on a case-by-case basis.Qualifications and ExperienceElectrical trade qualificationCurrent WA 'A' class electrical workers licenceHigh Voltage Switching CertificateHigh voltage ticket and experience with HV SwitchingPrevious experience as electrical tradesperson or Electrical / Instrumentation Technician in a continuous operating plant environment (2 years preferred maintenance, as it is for an experienced position)Experience in PLC systems and control communication systemsBasic instrumentation experienceExperience in the maintenance and troubleshooting of Variable Speed DrivesCompetent understanding of electrical schematics, isolation and permitting systemsExperience in computer-based maintenance systems - SAP (desirable)Our CommitmentFortescue is deeply committed to providing a safe culture that builds respect, fosters inclusiveness, and values diversity.
