Castings Tasmania is the oldest foundry in the Southern Hemisphere, commencing business in 1834.
It has had a range of owners throughout its distinguished history.
In December 2019 the foundry became part of the Recycal Group, who are investing heavily into upgrading the site, with new equipment and refurbishments to ensure it retains a leadership position as one of the most efficient foundries in Australia.
We are looking for a qualified electrician who is a highly motivated, passionate, and driven team member willing to take on responsibility and work in our group doing a range of tasks.
You should be able to guide and lead apprentices and be part of a team capable of performing a variety of tasks.
A full-time permanent role, the Electrical Technician will work alongside our Maintenance Manager, Operations, and Teams.
As an experienced Electrical Technician, you will be responsible for conducting site maintenance to deliver a safe and efficiently running site.
The main duties of the role will include: Ensuring stoppages, performance issues, and breakdowns are rectified in a safe and timely manner.Electrical fault finding, diagnostics, root cause analysis, and maintenance of equipment & instrumentation.PLC fault finding and root cause analysis of performance issues.Supporting the Maintenance and Operations Managers to ensure the site is maintained to a safe and reliable standard.Working safely in a safety-first culture while maintaining a clean and tidy working environment.Driving continuous improvement on performance, efficiency, and safety.Project and installation work as required.About you: You will be a reliable and organised individual who works well within a team.
You will be flexible and adaptable in your approach to work with strong diagnostic and problem-solving skills.
You will have a passion for manufacturing and excellent attention to detail.
The following qualifications and experience will be highly regarded: A minimum of 5 years' experience working within an industrial environment.A current Electrical License.Experience fault finding with PLCs.Ability to read electrical schematics, wiring diagrams, and OEM manuals to understand equipment.General skills required for the role: A sound understanding of the operation and maintenance procedures of site equipment.A sound understanding of workplace health and safety and the ability to work in a safe manner.Experience with large scale machine installations.A proactive attitude and self-motivated.Excellent problem-solving and diagnostic skills.Highly organised.Excellent attention to detail.Excellent communication skills, verbal and written.Be flexible and adaptable in approach to work.Be trustworthy and reliable.Be a team player.How to apply: Sound like you?
