Our client is an established Renewable Energy business, operating globally, with a strong foothold in the Australian Solar market.They are looking for an Electrician to join their team in the Northern Territory on a permanent basis.
This role is suited to an Electrician who is local to Darwin and keen on Monday to Friday work.Duties and ResponsibilitiesExecutes periodic and spontaneous maintenance and service work at PV installations.
Typical tasks include, but are not limited to:Execute works in accordance with the preventive maintenance program.All works on site issued by Site Manager (or Solar Asset Manager), which can include:Replacement of key components, such as modules & inverters.Cleaning of modules, inverters, or associated electrical components.Configuration of datalogger and communication equipment.Civil works (where required).Promptly identify, locate, and respond to all fault situations.Execution of failure correction, advised by Site Manager (or Solar Asset Manager).Execution of repair works (which may be with assistance/supervision of Subcontractor).Execution of project works (which may be with assistance/supervision of Subcontractor).Immediate documentation of each site visit with agreed templates or reporting structure.Immediate documentation of each PPM with agreed template.Carry out Due Diligence site and paperwork inspections.Execute repairs, rectification, or retro-fittings at PV Plant after authority from the Site Manager/Solar Asset Manager.The work assignment is placed by the Site Manager/Solar Asset Manager and/or, if necessary, by the Project Managers.DocumentationComplete documentation of all works.Daily time tracking of each working hour allocated to sites or projects (by using time tracking system).Full documentation of all performed work in his working area, especially with regard to Reporting and Accounting (Billing).Use the Computerised Maintenance Management System (CMMS) as required by the Solar Asset Manager.Additional OrdersIndependent determination of necessary and appropriate additional work and retro-fittings for PV installations.Interface with and manage subcontractors and other workers on site.Continuous reporting to Site Manager or Solar Asset Manager on latest status (work scheduling, etc.
).Workplace Health & SafetyAbide by the WHS protocols established by the site.File Daily Pre-Start-Talk and Take5 documentation for each site visit and/or task, as well as SWMS when needed.Maintain records of accidents and near misses (Incident Reports).Undertake appropriate ongoing training.Use the lone working protection system/process as provided.TrainingKeep an updated level of knowledge in area of expertise by attending regular training sessions.The Right CandidateA valid Driver's Licence.Relevant Safety Certifications – White card.Valid First Aid & Low Voltage Rescue / Cardiopulmonary Resuscitation (LVR/CPR) accreditation.Valid High Voltage Switching Operations (HSVO) Certificate.Experience as an industrial electrician working on Low Voltage (LV) systems.Experience as an industrial electrician working on High Voltage (HV) systems with High Voltage Switching Operator experience.Experience working on DC electrical systems.Experience with Data Communications (optic fibre, SCADA, data logger, routers, data bus system, internet connection).Proven experience efficiently executing tasks as defined by a maintenance plan.Demonstrated strong organisation skills with excellent problem-solving and effective communication skills.WHS reporting experience.
